CHINESE WATER DEER

Description

A very small deer. Height to the shoulder 20 - 21 inches. Weight 25 - 30 Ibs. The cost colour is yellowish-brown turning brownish flecked with grey in the winter. In this breed the male does not grown antlers, but the upper canine teeth are greatly elongated to form tusks that protrude from the upper lip.

MUNTJAC DEER

Description

A very small deer. Height to the shoulder 18 - 20 inches, weight 25 - 30 Ibs. The coat colour is generally reddish brown in the summer, turning grey brown in winter, and has two dark stripes on the face. The male's upper canine teeth are elongated into tusks that protrude from his lips.

  Antlers

The antlers grow from boney hair-covered pedicles and consist of a short main beam with small tines close to the base. The pedicles get shorter as the buck gets older.
