Description

A large deer, height to the shoulder up to 56 inches, weight 300 - 450 Ibs. The coat colour in the summer is a reddish brown turning to darker brown in the winter. A mature male will develop a neck mane of long hair before the rut and carry it through the winter.

HOG DEER

Description

A small deer but very heavily built. Height to the shoulder 24 - 29 inches, weight 80 - 100 Ibs. The coat colour is yellow brown or brown.

FALLOW DEER

Description

A medium size deer, height to the shoulder about 34 - 36 inches, weight 140 - 200 Ibs. The coat colour - there can be many colour variations in this breed from white through to very dark brown.

A typical mature buck will have three points per side main beam, and front and back tines, as can be seen here.

These have brow and trez tines and are well palmated at the top with a good number of points coming off the back edge of palmation.
